Determination of Susceptibility to the Generation of Discontinuities Related to Land Subsidence Using the Frequency Ratio Method in the City of Aguascalientes, Mexico

Land subsidence in the Aguascalientes Valley, documented since 1980s, has developed a large number of discontinuities that damage infrastructure. There is currently no methodology to accurately predict site and time at which discontinuity will occur, making it difficult make decisions urban planning or risk management. However, possible determine susceptibility an area generation fractures based on factors associated with their formation. This study presents zoning method ground failure index (GFSI) city Aguascalientes, using frequency ratio (FR) employing depth basement, rate, gradient, groundwater level drawdown as variables.
